We are looking for donated items so that we can create care bags for families in our CT NICUs (neonatal intensive care units). These families enter the NICU most often unexpectedly, and can use all the help that we can give. For those of you who have never had a baby in the NICU, it is one of the most trying times for these families. We will be distributing these bags on or around World Prematurity Day, November 17. If you are able to donate any of the following, or know someone who works for a company that could donate some of these items, we would be very grateful! We are looking for:
- Tote bags/gift bags
- journals
- pens
- handmade or swaddle blankets
- children’s books
- unscented hand lotion
- travel sized items (shampoo, body wash, etc.)
- Granola bars / snacks
- baby hats (infant/preemie sized)
- picture frames / small photo albums
- toothbrushes / toothpaste
- sports bottles / water bottles
- preemie / newborn outfits
- personal stories / notes of encouragement
- Purell
- gas or food gift cards
- meal donations from local restaurants
- packs of preemie or newborn diapers
