The UHP Elections Committee announces the following nominees for the special election for VP Tier II (hourly) employees:
- Tasha Greenlaw, patient access representative
- Randi Schiavi, ICU nurse (and current VP for community outreach)

Tasha Greenlaw
My name is Tasha Greenlaw, and I work in the Patient Access Pre-Cert Department.
My commitment to our union was reinforced last month when I volunteered for the UHP blitz. Through on-site visits, home visits, and reaching out to members directly, I gained a firsthand understanding of the pressing issues facing our members and what truly matters to us.
If elected as your VP Tier 2, I am committed to fighting for three core pillars:
- Safe Staffing: Addressing the critical workplace safety concerns caused by chronic understaffing across all areas.
- Transparency: Fostering clear, open communication as the foundation for meaningful change.
- Accountability: Ensuring that when action plans are agreed upon, we follow through on them together.
I believe our members deserve to have their voices heard and respected. I encourage everyone to explore our union’s benefits, rights, and core values — never hesitate to ask questions, and always remember you are not alone!
Randi Schiavi
After nearly four years of active service to UHP, I am excited to announce my candidacy for Vice President of Tier II.
Since joining the health center as a nurse in 2023, I have made it my mission to amplify the voice of my peers. I started as unit rep for the ICU, and later joined the Negotiations Committee, where I wrote more than a dozen proposals to improve conditions for hourly employees. I currently serve as a steward and your Community Outreach officer, and I’ve represented our union at conferences and conventions as a delegate.
I pursued these positions to represent members whose roles are poorly understood or respected by management. Advocating for safe staffing, fighting for stipend renewal, and representing clinical employees at arbitration have been some of the ways I’ve shown my dedication to our members. It is my goal as VP Tier II to continue to strengthen the voice of hourly employees, both in and out of the clinical departments, and welcome your support in this election!
Elections will be held online Oct. 19-23, and absentee ballots will be available by appointment Oct. 13-15. Note: You must be a member in good standing to have voting rights. If you are unsure, you can check your status by calling the office: 860-676-8444.
