SEPT. 16, 2026—SEBAC has reached a tentative agreement to defer any changes to retirement and healthcare until June 2028.

Background: SEBAC negotiates healthcare and retirement benefits for state employee unions throughout Connecticut, including UHP as a local of AFT CT. The current SEBAC agreement with the state is set to expire June 30, 2027.
While the full negotiations continue, this agreement to no changes in retirement or healthcare before June 30, 2028, (unless mutually agreed upon by both the state and SEBAC) is a positive development in that it adds more certainty for members.
