We are holding a special election for the position of vice president for Tier II (hourly) employees, vacant since Peter Zarabozo took office as our 1st VP for collective bargaining July 1.
Eligible candidates must be an hourly employee and a signed member in good standing. Nominations require signatures from a minimum of 10 members in good standing and are due by 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, to the UHP Office (or Mail Code 6335) in a sealed envelope addressed to the attention of the Elections Committee. We will announce the nominees once they have been notified and have accepted.
Online voting will take place Oct. 19-23, with each eligible voter receiving a link to his or her unique ballot via uchc.edu email. Only signed members in good standing have voting rights. Absentee ballots will be available by appointment at the UHP office Oct. 13-15.
We will announce the winner once we have notified the candidates, likely the evening of Oct. 23. The new VP is to take office before the end of the year, per our constitution.
