While in American Samoa for innovative readiness training in September, Air National Guard Maj. Michael Wilhelm (second from left), one of our nurse anesthetists, was part of a team that delivered medical, dental, and vision care to the underprivileged people on the island.
During his time there, the military personnel saw more than 1,300 patients, performed more than 3,300 procedures, and performed nearly 150 surgical cases. This resulted in the savings of nearly $900,000 to the American Samoan government.
We salute Mike for his service, and that of all our active and retired military — and their families — especially on Veterans Day.
