Remembering Alex Pretti

A week after VA nurse Alex Pretti was killed in Minneapolis by federal immigration agents, Connecticut nurses and members of the Connecticut labor movement turned out by the hundreds at a vigil at the state Capitol.

UHP’s Paul Banach, an ICU nurse, was one of the event’s organizers of and speakers.

The event also featured elected officials including state Reps. Kaitlyn Shake (a nurse), Rebecca Martinez (a nurse), Jillian Gilchrest (a social worker), and Mike Demicco, and state Sens. Saud Anwar (a physician), Matt Lesser, and Derek Slap.
