There is good news if you or your family has not yet submitted applications for the scholarships available each year exclusively to members of AFT-affiliated unions. Deadlines for these valuable benefits are next week, so there is still time to apply.
 
AFT Connecticut awards two scholarships annually; one for union members’ own educational pursuits and the other for their spouses, domestic partners or children.

<p>ATTENTION UNIONIZED STATE EMPLOYEES:SEBAC V. ROWLAND CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT UPDATEClass counsel has now reached a settlement of the SEBAC lawsuit with the Connecticut Attorney General. The settlement has been approved by the General Assembly.The Court presiding over the case has also preliminarily approved the settlement and has scheduled a hearing to consider whether to give final approval for the settlement. That hearing will take place on October 1, 2015 at the UnitedStates District Court at 450 Main Street, in Hartford. Class members will receive notice before the hearing – either by mail</p>
