It's time to gear up to defend our jobs, our benefits, our retirement, and our future. With this new legislative session comes a new effort to fight off efforts to privatize UConn Health.

It starts with an all-membership meeting Thursday, Jan. 30, noon to 1 p.m. in Keller. That day our UConn Health Labor Coalition* allies will join us and so will key elected officials. This will be an opportunity to learn more about the the importance of keeping our public institution public, and to have the ear of influential people who can help stand up for us at the state Capitol.

How can you help?

  1. Plan to attend the meeting Jan. 30.
  2. Get the word out and bring five co-workers with you (or as many as you can).
  3. Download this activist card to learn how you can get off the sidelines and into the game (and share with co-workers).
  4. Plan to attend the 2020 AFT CT Legislative Issues Conference Saturday, Feb. 29, and encourage co-workers to join you. This is a very low-pressure way to boost your awareness and involvement.

To learn more, ask your union rep, visit an upcoming UHP information table, follow www.uhp3837.com and our Facebook page, or call the office.

  • *What is the UConn Health Labor Coalition? It's an alliance of the unions representing approximately 4,000 UConn Health employees: UHP, AAUP, 1199, SEUI, AFSCME, CEUI, CPFW, and A&R.

We'll see you on the 30th!

In solidarity,

Your UHP Executive Committee

Please print this activist card for yourself and any other coworkers who would consider joining the brigade. Help us build our ranks of activists so we are in position to defend what we have and fight off the forces of privatization. The greater number of unique activist voices that are heard, the more influential we are. Let's leverage our collective power to do this. Is your future worth fighting for?
